The Madax Monster is a tough off-road bicycle event designed to test your skills, your fitness and you ability to navigate via GPS device.
Self supported reliability ride over 100k (50k option available) of off-road trails in the cotswold hills. You have to navigate via a GPS device only, so not signage, no marshals just you and your device. The event is based at the Slam69 shop near Gloucester. (GL3 4FF) where you will start and finish. Free refreshments will be available at the start and finish along with some post ride food.
The route will be tough with a real mix of terrain, the event starts at the bottom of the hills so you have a sweet downhill to finish on.

The Location – Start/Finish, Slam69 Bicycle shop. GL3 4FF (Gloucester)
Parking – Car park outside Slam 69 Bike Shop.
The Distance – 100K or 50k (You can make your mind on on route if you wish, the 50k return will be marked for those looking to wimp out 🙂)
The Event Type – A Non-competitive Self-supported off-road challenge, for mountain bike and cyclocross bikes. (No Electric bikes)
The Route – 75% off-road, mix of forest singletrack, fireroad, rough cotswold stone trails and some DUST. Did we mentons hills? There are a few, but what goes up… must come down.
Navigation – GPS device, route in GPX format.
Ability – Experienced off-road.
Sign in from – 7.30am.
Ride start – 9am.
All entrants must:
- Ride a human powered bicycle. (No E-Bikes).
- Wear a certified cycle helmet.
- Sign in on arrival at the registration point.
- Sign out after the event so we can account for you.
- Have a fully working and maintained bicycle able to cope with the terrain and conditions.
- Use a GPS device to navigate the route, or ride with someone who has one. You can ride in a group or on your own.
- Have a fully charged mobile phone with them at the start.
NOTE: All entrants must call our event hotline 01452 690 641 (Andy or Graham!) if they decide to pull out of the event and not return to the finish. This number will be given to you again at the start. Please put the number in your phone. · If you wish to leave the course before finishing and would like to take a short-cut, use the postcode GL3 4FF in your GPS/Mobile phone app, to find the quickest road route back. · It is very important you let us know if you have left the event as we will need to account for everyone. We don’t wish to be searching the woods at night, whilst you sit with your feet up, gorging your face and supping a gin and tonic.
